Recently I met a business owner at an Annual State of City event. He owns a mid-size manufacturing business locally.

We spoke about the state of businesses in the province and challenges that business owners go through.

I asked him about his plans of growth and what strategies he is leveraging not just to maintain existing customer base but attracting new customers.

He shared some of the loyalty program strategies he has for his customers. I asked about the effectiveness of the program, and he was honest enough to admit he was not sure. We spoke about test and measure techniques.

On attracting new customers or generating new leads, I asked about his USP of the business/products. We spoke at length how crucial it is to have clear, concise and compelling value proposition that sets one apart from the competition.

It was a good interaction with this business owner; we decided to catch up over a cup of coffee for further discussion.
